When its first settlers arrived in the early 1830s, the Buffalo Creek area was promising frontier land for use mainly for dairy farms. Not until 1958 would Buffalo Grove become an incorporated town. Now, more than 180 years since those pioneers arrived, the town has a population of more than 40,000 residents.
